Sarah Watt Exhibition Extended

For the first time in a long time I am a little lost for words! It has been so sad to loose such an inspirational person. Even for those who did not know Sarah personally, she has managed to get under all of our skin! Her raw honesty and humor make it impossible for us not to love her and find resonance in her work. We have been so overwhelmed by the response to Sarah’s current exhibition; we have decided to extend part of the show until the end of November. The exhibition has drawn people from far and wide and all 65 works have now been sold! The thing that makes me smile is that for many, Sarah’s work is the first piece of art they have purchased! Way to go – I totally love that! I am sure Sarah would get a kick out of her work hanging in everyday homes and for the most part they have stayed in the neighborhood she loved. Hi Joan,

Thank you for your comments. Sarah Watt has touched many people through her work. We are very saddened by her death – she is an inspiration both as a person and as a artist. Unfortunately we there are no more works available for sale – the exhibition has been a sell out. You can however purchase a calendar which features a number of the works from this exhibition.

Thanks again for your comments I am glad that Sarah’s work has made a connection with so many people.

Just as with so many people throughout Australia (and probably the world), I was shocked and saddened to read the news of Sarah Watt’s death. One always hopes that the really interesting, pasionate, gifted people, such as Sarah, will survive and be able to continue creating and passing those creative gifts to us. Sad day indeed!

One hopes her husband and children are coping, but what a gap she leaves.

I am rather afraid to ask this in the same email, but do you still have any of Sarah’s pictures still available? I saw some on the news and loved them.

    Very warm regards

    Hi Susan,

Thanks for your comments. I will be sure to forward your condolences to all the family. Sarah touched so many people through her work. Her death has saddened many who both knew her personally as well as those who found resonance in her work. It is indeed going to take a long while for us all to come to terms with the loss of someone so honest and inspirational.

I met Sarah when I studied at VCA in 1996 and was deeply saddened to hear of her illness and death. By all accounts she handled it with inspiring grace and courage. Could you pass on my condolences to all her family and to her sister Maryjean in particular.

    Warm Regards
