This spud gun or potato Zapper is a toy gun which takes me back to my childhood. The spud gun shoots pellets of potato. It works by pressing the nozzle into the potato which breaks off a pellet of potato which is fired by the compression of air in the gun chamber. We have had hours of fun with this in our family! Slightly non PC of us I know. But you have to love an ambush.
An interesting fact . . . the first spud gun was designed during the Great Depression. Given the scarcity of food during this time the spud gun was not taken up with vigor. During the Great Depression no one would consider wasting a potato for use in a child's toy. The inventor sold the patient for $600 USD. After the war their was a glut of potatoes. Seizing this opportunity, a clever marketing campaign was developed, resulting in sales of 2 million spud guns over a 6 month period!
This potato gun has not deviated from the original design and is constructed from sturdy die cast metal. Packaged product measures 11.5 11.5 x 2.2cm
This Water Wars water pistol game has to be the coolest product on the market! The object of the game is to hit the other persons vest with the water gun without getting hit yourself. When you hit your opponents vest the vest turns red. The player who turns his or her opponents vest completely red wins the game. Let the vests dry out and they go back to white and play all over again. Paintball eat your heart out!
The game comes with 2 water pistols and two colour changing vests (one size fits all)
Yup slightly un-PC . . . but loads of fun for all the family! I would have to say this is about the only game my kids will play together well – albeit slightly devilishly. Fighting but having fun has to beat fighting and screaming surely? This toy gets a ten out of ten from me
