Hey Stuart . . . what a great story!! It has been fantastic all the yarns that have come about due to this exhibition. Warren kirks exhibition struck a real chord, particularly with the local community. Many of these stories and histories are being lost and it is great to have some account of our local history. I particularly love your reference to our industrial history of the area, which is often overlooked.
Thanks so much for your feedback!
    Cheers
    Mary

I don’t know if you know the history of this image, but Jack(?) Griffiths and Bill Baird were mates of my dad (Ken Hall) when they all worked together at the Ordnance Factory Maribyrnong as toolmakers. Jack and Bill set up this business and made (I think) good money out of manufacturing and supplying the cutting bits for chain saws. I don’t remember much about Jack Griffiths, but Bill Baird was a frequent visitor to our house. They did invite dad to join the business, but although he did help them out from time to time he stayed a TAFE teacher and was later Principal of Newport TAFE College.
