Flight is explored through moths, aeroplanes and ethereal winged creatures. In this series of work I am concerned with the moment of metamorphosis and transcendence. A spiritual connection to land is examined through found materials including, bones, leaves and suburban refuge. These are worked in to pieces that hope to bring balance between the masculine and feminine. This work also attempts to draw on environmental issues the battle between nature, human excess and environmental degradation. Moths morphing into machines, – the war for survival is on.
